Temporary Traffic Management

Solutions in Transport has been working with QLD TMR for the past eight years on a series of projects targeted at improving safety outcomes at worksite on and near roads.  Initially appointed to update the contract technical specification - provision for traffic (MRTS02), Dr Sullivan has played an ongoing role assisting the department in development of technical guidance, training, policy, and professional development products 

Solutions in Transport has built a strong collaborative relationship with TMAA assisting the industry in achieving improved safety outcomes.  Dr Sullivan contributes regularly in presenting webinars, seminars, workshops and other informational events to assist TMAA members and industry in remaining up to date with current and emerging topics.   

Dr Sullivan was appointed by the Austroads Board as the specialist Project Manager and Technical Specialist for this strategically important project.  To achieve improved safety outcomes, Dr Sullivan developed and delivered a wide program of activities focussed on best practice guidance, Nationally harmonised training, registration of TTM workers, and prequalification of companies.  

Solutions in Transport and Driveabout have formed a partnership to deliver a range of innovative informational videos and articles to assist everyone in being safe at roadworks sites.  The initial work has been undertaken for the NT Government and includes short videos targeting learner drivers and how to drive safely at roadworks.  An additional set of videos have been developed to assist workers at TTM sites to "Look out for their own safety - and - Look out for their mates"

The Department of State Growth in Tasmania has embarked on a program of activities to substantially improve the requirements around TTM in the State.  Dr Sullivan has provided a series of presentations to departmental staff, local government and industry on multiple occasions to assist the department in the adoption of the Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management and to assist in preparing industry for forthcoming changes in training for individuals in the industry.
